SnapPads and clearance issuesUpdated a year ago

Depending on how your individual RV has been manufactured we occasionally hear about clearance issues with the pads. We have a small list of rigs with clearance issues that are known to us and when we are contacted by customers looking for pads for those particular rigs we always advise them to check their RV prior to purchasing pads. 

In fact, any of the SnapPad packages that fit on the larger coaches come with a warning on the website to check your rig for clearance issues prior to ordering, so that even if our Customer Service Team isn't contacted, we still try to make our customers aware of this potential issue.

The RVs with known clearance issues are usually large luxury coaches/Class A Motorhomes. The issues are usually with the rear jack feet, which can in some cases be close to various undercarriage items such as crossbeams, tires, etc. The SnapPads will increase the jack foot diameter by up to 2.25" depending on the pad, and while SnapPads can generally "rest" against some cross beams, depending on the degree they are touching, we recommend a clearance of at least 2" away from any vital undercarriage components and tires for safety once the pads are installed.

We ask that owners fully retract the rear jacks, make sure the airbags are in travel mode, and check for clearance issues with tires/crossbeams and other undercarriage items prior to ordering. If you aren't sure if your rig has enough clearance please take some photos and send them into our Customer Service team. They will consult with our Install Expert on your individual case and provide guidance as needed. Your safety is of paramount importance to us, and we have on occasion had to recommend that customers either do not purchase SnapPads, or remove their pads for a refund if there are clearance concerns.
