Why don't you make a SnapPad for 13.5" HWH® jacks?Updated a year ago

We get a lot of inquiries from avid SnapPadders on when we will have a pad for their 13.5" round (or usually round with a "cut-out" or clipped side) jack feet. These are typically found on the rear jacks of larger Class A Newmar motorhomes, such as Dutch Star, Essex, King Aire, London Aire, and Mountain Aire models over 43 feet long.

We have been looking into the possibility of creating a product for these rear feet for quite some time, but most of these 13.5" feet display manufacturer cut-outs, and these cut-out areas are not the same from rig to rig. Out of all of the models we have seen come in, less than 10% do not display the manufacturer cut-outs, so it has been a challenge to develop a compatible option across the board.

The added challenge for developing a SnapPad for these feet is that they would add several additional inches to the diameter of the jack foot (the SnapPad would likely end up with a total diameter of 15.5" to 16"), which would have a significant weight and also exacerbate any existing clearance issues.

We reached out directly to Newmar to ask them about these large jacks and they informed us that, for the most part, they are shaped the way they are to clear the tires. Some are even clipped on the fronts so that when you turn the wheel, the tire doesn't hit the jack foot. If the metal jack feet were not clipped they would rub on the tires and the tires would blow out.

Safety is of paramount importance to all of us at RV SnapPad, and when clearance issues exist for any rig, we always err on the side of caution and advise RV owners to NOT use SnapPads. It simply isn't worth the risk to you or your rig. To that end, we will unfortunately, not be proceeding in the development of a pad for these large 13.5" jacks.

We are, however, working on producing another product called the "SnapPad Stacker" which will be a non-permanent solution to those feet that we are unable to design a permanent product for. These will offer all of the same great benefits of SnapPads, just in a non-permanent, stackable form. We hope to see this released next year. If you would like us to add you to our waitlist for the Stackers please contact us at [email protected].
